Wow never had one come back on me because of that brad, but I've been taking them off any way because it makes the package stick out more. And I use just a regular envelope now only cost me .44 to mail I havent had any come back to me because of the .44 stamps, but I think they went up a bit if I'm not wrong. Cost me $9.00+ to buy a book this time use to be $8.00+
When mailing fabric, don't do what I did on my first boom. I put each in a small ziploc back and put them in a golden 5x7 envelope and said hand cancel. Each on cost $1.22. The post office has to hand cancel anything with one of those brad type closures, because they mess up the machines.

The cost depends on the thickness of the envelope. Of course, anything over 1 oz. requires twenty cents. But if the envelope is too thick to slide through their slot, it is considered a package, and not a letter, and the price goes up a lot more.

All mine have been a forever stamp plus 20 cents. The postmaster said to use the greeting card envelopes because the block is thinner that way and it works perfect the only time it's more is if it's embroidery. I go to the PO so I'm sure I have the right amount on mine I have gotten things with postage due.

On boom 6 I got a lot with postage due, I just figured it was easier to pay it than send the block back. But we have a really small post office and they are sticklers for details. The Postmaster signaled me out and said my name was mentioned at their meeting and my "squishies" were slowing down the machine! I think the safest rule of thumb is to take them in and have them tell you how much postage is needed. I never had to pay more than 64 cents, well 65 now, except out of the country.
But I can guarantee if you put just one stamp on mine they will hold it and make me pay the extra 20cents. except the F8 they usually can make it with only a first class stamp.
I got some manila envelopes at the 99 cent store 6 X 9 for 99 cents there were 6 per envelope. I also got the cling wrap Brawny brand for 99 cents. I will mail my F8 in a small white envelope with cling wrap but will mail out the finished blocks in the manila envelopes with the clasp removed. Postage is about 80 cents depending on where it is going and the weight.
Isn't it funny how the post offices are supposed to be the same every where but they all bend their rules a little differently.
