Why not get a quilting friend to join you for a day to take a look at what you are doing and maybe it is something so minute that you missed. It is always hard to find your own problems. A fresh eye might be just the thing to get you back on track. You have a beautiful quilt started; however, if it is truly so frustrating and you can not solve the problems, might want to think about another design that you will enjoy. Sometimes, we learn a lot when working through a problem, but it is not a crime to abandon a project that causes us so much stress. Better to have a completed project that gives you pleasure to make.

Oh absolutely finish it. I did a quilt I thought I would hate, but I wanted to finish it, and it's acually one of my favorites. When it IS FINISHED, it will be beautiful and your BFF will absolutely love it. If she doesn' send it to me. LOL So get up, and sew all your hard work together and you will feel good about it.

I say lose the guilt !! Give the pieces to a local quilt guild who would gladly finish it for a charity quilt someone would love to receive. Knowing it is going to a good home would release me from this lack of desire to finish it yourself. Then move forward and start a-new. Don't waste your time beating yourself up - Most quilters have run up against this same problem. Get going on a new project that you love for your BFF. Hope this helps !

Work just a little every day. Set your alarm clock and sew for 15 or 20 minutes on it. It is going to be a beautiful quilt. Love the vintage look that it has. I can already feel the cosyness snuggling under it.
