I once heard someone say that you should put the unwanted junk mail wrapped around a brick and send it back to them and they have to pay the postage...mean, but effective I bet!

Nice to know there is a man quilter, I must tell my friends husband. He laughs when we go fabric shopping.

Thanks for the warning. Makes a person want to stop ordering magazines all together.

I have on more than one occasion been intimidated by someone that makes me lose sleep. If I can't figure out a way to solve it, or even if I do but I think someone of importance needs to know I will write to the Attorney General. They have been very helpful many times. You don't have anything to recover but I would send off a copy of the reply with an explanation and just let them know what kind of tactics this company uses. I live in WA but I would guess that you would contact the AG in your state. It's worth a try and it only costs you a stamp hopefully for some peace of mind.

Ask for a refund from them. For the unused portion they canceled. And see them make that up.

I have had similar experiences too many times to count. However, they have never gone as far as to threaten my credit. Have even scrawled "I do not want this magazine any more. Do not send me any more notices or I will consider this a free subscription." They still send magazines until they get the hint. Times are hard and they are feeling the push and pushing back. I suggest a Suzanne Sugarbaker phone call.

I showed that notice to my wife while ago. As she read it, I could tell what was coming. She looked at me with "that" gleam in her eye and a smile and said "Do you want me to call them?"   I laughed  and said that I already had. They should count themselves VERY fortunate that it was I that called them and not HER!

Sirus radio is real bad about that, as well. They give six months free. I say, fine and dandy. If I want it passed the six months, I will let you know. I never asked for the free six months and I shouldn't have to tell you that I don't want it anymore.
OMG, Sirius radio was AWFUL. I bought a new car, came with a few months. Awesome. As the free period ended, I had no intention of paying for radio. I received an automated call, transferred to a live person, and I told them (nicely) that I didn't want their service. They said no problem. Next day, I get another automated call - ignore. Next day, another. Talk to a person, tell them no. They say it's taken care of. A call per day for 2 weeks. At the end of week 1, I yelled, they said it was taken care of. Middle of week 2, I asked for the manager, yelled again, they said it was taken care of. End of week 2, I told them I was going to file a lawsuit for harassment, they transferred me to VP of something or other, who emailed heads of whatever, and I didn't get a call again. Frickin' insane that it took 2 weeks of that silliness

Heh heh heh heh. Is she from NY or NJ and/or Jewish? Those gals are scary when they're mad (I can say that because my mom/grandma/aunts are Jewish from NY and darn scary when they're mad)
