Mine is a quarter of the basement. My husband says I'm going to the dungeon. I love my own little space.

Ever since the first of our 3 kids left for college I've taken over one of the bedrooms. At first it had his bed in it and the rest of his stuff. Then he graduated and married and meanwhile the next one had gone off to college, too, and the 3rd was soon to follow. I hear people talk about downsizing when the kids grow up, and I think, "What? I need a bigger house now that I have more time to do things!"

I have an extra bedroom that I have always used as a sewing room. As far as I was concerned it was the saving grace when we bought this house. It is pretty good sized and has 5 large built in drawers and to big built in closets and a small closet. So it makes for a great sewing room.

I do :) When my daughter moved to Florida, I took over her bedroom. She uses the "guest bedroom" when her and her husband visit. It was her brother's room when they were home. I do have a small single bed in there yet, which is coverd in fabric :)

Since we no longer have "in-laws" I quickly moved my sewing to the in-law suite-took it over completely. It comes with a kitchen, full bath, bedroom, and a separate entrance. Best of all it has 3 skylights. There is just my husband and myself, and cats, and it makes a nice escape. Besides, he gets the entire garage...that's fair. LOL

I have a 12x 13 bedroom just for sewing. I have a Grace frame with a Juki machine, my sewing machine, shelves for material, and DH took the closet doors off from one of the closets and made me a recessed work table with a cabinet underneath that has six drawers in it. Amazing what you can get in a small space and still not feel crowded.

Best thing about my sewing room - One of our bathrooms connects to it!!!!!! Give me a small frig and a microwave and no one would see anything of me for weeks at a time!!!!
