The best tip I can give you is to save up some money and pay for a professional to teach her. I tried teaching my daughter and she got mad every time I had to scream at her, even though I only screamed when after telling her to slow down or stop 20 times, she only listened when she was 5 feet away from a mail box or half way down into a gutter. She never got her license, but it was her choice. I paid someone and she was ready. Moved to NYC and had no need for it after all.

that's how my dad was when he took me out driving for the first time. He freaked me out so much I almost ran into the neighbors wall. TIP: do not yell at kids when learning, it makes them nervous.

When my dear daughter passed her driving test I had the same worry. The first time she actually got to drive by herself it had started snowing before she left to come home. She did not get her license until about two weeks before her 17th birthday because her Dad and I told her she had a choice between driving or taking horseback riding lessons. She took the lessons and on top of being very mature already, the extra year helped with maturity behind the wheel. Go destress and then have a talk with her. I told my daughter that if she ever needed to have somebody come get her because she should not be driving, call and there would be no questions asked. I would rather pick her up from a party at 2 in the morning than go to a funeral at 2 in the afternoon.
She is now a 21 Univeristy graduate and has never had an accident. (I on the other hand do not deal with the snow all that well and she had to come get me once)

I wasn't as worried when riding with my kids - they really were good while I was a passenger - what scares me is how do they drive when I am not there - that gives me gray hair just thinking about it.

Once you get used to the fact that they can and will drive your life gets so much easier...no more running them to ball practice, jobs, school, ect... Took awhile then I sat back and let them do my running for me!
