Flannel also works great to line tablemats, summer quilts, tablerunners, placemats, candlemats, Christmas tree skirts.
Just be sure to wash 1st in case it shrinks some.

you can make any kind of quilt with flannel. It's super warm!

Do be sure to prewash it though, it shrinks a TON.

I used flannel as backing for my niece's quilt last year. Yummy. When I get to it I'd like to do a flannel quilt top and back to replace my knitted afghan for napping on the sofa.

I made a Trip Around The World quilt for my niece out of flannel. She loved it. So did her mom. :o) So warm, soft and cozy on a cold winters night.

Yes flannel quilts are great, the colors and the warmth. They sew up nice.

Ask around your community if there is a pregnancy center. They are always looking for burp rags, bibs and receiving blankets. My mother started doing this a couple of years ago and is loving it.

I am creating a quilt for my granddaughter with a flannel top that has penguins on it. I am quilting penguins and will be posting pictures when finished. She will be so excited.

I agree. We use flannel to back the charity quilts we do for the Afghan kids. It is also good for pet beds and blankets.
