Girl, those are stunning. I bet they would sell now but at a craft show, not flie market. Tell us how you made yours. I would like to know, I love them.
Maybe... I've been thinking of starting back making them with fabric and maybe I'll set up next year at a fall festival or something. A little too late for this year. One thing about the ribbon... it could be a little scratchy, so fabric is probably a much better choice. But that lame ribbon was so pretty and shiny. Choices, choices...lol

Hubbies can be so much fun... especially when we're RIGHT! (Which of course is most of the time) :-)

Story 4. I know you are going to love this one as I have never seen this and I have got the tut for you.

One of the designers who was demoing yesterday, was doing this darling mini pumpkin and so I went and looked at her website..

    http://www.latodera.com/

I saw this cute little star pillow, a five star deal.

This was late last night and it just got me inspired. I know you have done stars and diamond shapes. I got out my trusty "Sharon Hultgren" Easy Six, ruler. I cut my strip the full width of the ruler (4inch strip) and then cut the diamonds (6). I sewed the pillow together and will stuff it in a minute and put some beads etc.

Make two stars, leaving the set-ins for the other diamond. Now after the two stars are made, you will set in half of the diamond patch into the top star, sewing on both sides of the patch, you will have the other half of the patch hanging free (the light part). Now join the bottom half of the diamond patch to the other star, setting in as usual. On the last star, sew down a point and stop, sew down from the middle up and leav an opening in the middle of that set in patch for the stuffing.

here you see the light patch set into both top and bottom star.

here you can see the top and bottom with the inset diamond

this is how it looks finished, like a sandwich.

That star is really cool! I couldn't figure out where you were going at first. Checked the link you posted and found it. What a cute, cute, cute idea! Thanks for sharing.

I will go stuff now and see how it goes and will post it when done. A note about stuffing. Don't ever use the slick kind that slides, soft and silky etc. they just come back at you and don't stay in place.

I use either Air-tex premium or Buffalo snow...these stuffings stream and pack down well and stay in place.

Edit: I just started to stuff. Sew all the star points . it's too difficult to stuff through one side of the star. Leave the bottom middle seam of one star open for the stuffing...

Sew three diamonds together, then join the set to the other three and leave that seam open in the middle for the stuffing as this will be the bottom star.

I look forward to seeing the final product. I think I'll go sew a little more binding on my "first" quilt. (Finally finishing up the first quilt top I ever made.)
