Ok Everyone, This thread is for questions, answers, photos of fabric chosen for the project....members here curious about the project wanting to join.....

This is not the thread for any blocks already done...Please don't misunderstand me....You have to remember that if the blocks start popping up..down the road they'll be asking which thread do I post my photos in?? We really need to keep it simple. No tutorials on the blocks. We will have our own instruction/discussion page starting JANUARY 3, 2012. Please forgive my scream.
We are all excited about this new journey and there will be alot of questions and that's why this thread has started one month before the actual start of The FWSPC.

I am one of those that couldn't wait and started two months ago with the Yahoo Group. It has helped me so much to see some of the photos that a few other's have posted, but not too many have. I am watching this thread and hope it will be a bit more active. This is a fun quilt being that each block has an accompanying "history" of a child and their pony. I'm am still not sure what I will do with my finished blocks, but I sure am enjoying doing each one up to now. I have kept to one a week, but think I can more. Have this site bookmarked.... Anne (Honchey), thank you for undertaking this task. It's gonna be a long journey! As I mentioned on the "other" thread, I'm already discouraged after looking at Block 1. Set-in seams are going to kill me!

Got my book yesterday. I love it. I am going to cowboy up and quit whining about the first block and all those dang blasted Y seams. Probably not right away,tho.

Seriously,this is going to fun.

After my journey with you all on the FWSQ, I am ready to saddle up the "pony" and ride the trail in good company again. Its making me feel a bit old; it has me looking for my first parade picture on my pony some 63 years ago. Wow!! how time can fly. Yes, I have other projects going, and finishing my FWQ slashing so I can get it basted on a long arm across the road from my house. Then I can hand quilt the blocks or sew it on my machine. What a wonderful idea I found on the QB that was an answer to the question I did not ask.

Yes, the FWQ had me going in circles and was a challenge; but with the help of QB members doing it at the same time, the journey was fun and I learned many new things. "Y" seams are a challenge, but who really wants the same old, same old thing that you already know? I am collecting fabric in a box, thinking about the whole plan, and love, love, love the Pony Quilt book. Love the stories, love how she had done her patterns and Yes, I would recommend it for the stories alone. The patterns are an extra bonus. And I am ready to hear about her next book...

I was also a bit discouraged with block 1 but yesterday I found myself wanting to put my ufo's aside and work on something different so I dug out my fabric and made my first Pony Club block (just a test block reaaaaalllllly) and that first block went together like a dream. I was really impressed with how well it turned out. I used freezer paper templates and cut very carefully and within an hour it was finished.
I also had my book spiral bound along with my Farmers Wife book and that has made it easier to study the blocks.
Now back to those dang ufo's

Yes, I'm in as well!!!! My hubby took my book to Staples and had it cut and spiral bound. It will be much easier to work with. He said it was $7.00 at Staples, and thinks it might be cheaper at FedX/Kinkos.

That sounds like a great idea. A new Staples has opened near my residence and I got a $20.00 coupon good this coming Monday only. I'll have to check it out to see if it's good on binding (might as well make this trek as easy as possible!). Thanks for the idea, since I don't really need any other "office" supplies.
