I love stewed tomatoes and okra! It is good over rice, butter peas, black eye peas, etc. I put a stick of butter or margarine in a skillet, chopped onion, salt pepper to taste, about a tablespoon of sugar, a large can of diced tomatoes or chopped fresh tomatoes with their juice. Bring to simmer and simmer until you just cannot wait to eat them. Oh, yes, add a package of chopped frozen okra or fresh chopped okra. It has to simmer for a little while for the fresh okra to cook till tender. Mmmmm makes my mouth water just thinking about this dish!

One time I had clostridium difficile (an intestinal bacterial issue) and all I craved was stewed tomatoes on cottage cheese.
