If I'm just stringing blocks or strips together, I usually have a country CD playing. If I need to pay more attention to what I'm doing, I prefer classical music or silence.

Regarding the stars, you could probably use any star pattern, which uses squares and/or triangles. If you want to highlight one charm, here's a simple star pattern. http://www.mccallsquilting.com/patte....html?idx=8252

I bring my iPad to my sewing area and like to listen to quilting shows and classes. I have so much to learn and really like the ones below. I do stop to look, but I don't slow down too much. Many I listen to more than once. I pay for the extra access and classes much like my DH pays for cable to see movies.

    Sorry I can't help with a pattern.

I quilt in silence. If the weather is warm and the windows are open I like to hear the birds. Of course, living in New Hampshire the warm weather is only around so long. I have listed to my CDs when I quilt at times, but I find myself getting so absorbed into the quilting, that I don't hear the music at all! Then I wonder, what happened to that song I really like, did it already go by?

I like listening to podcasts. Some for business and current events and some are quilting podcasts! I love The Off Kilter Quilt, Nonnie's Quilting Dreams, Quilting for the Rest of Us, Katie's Quilting Corner....

Excuse me while I gush for a second. Peggi and Cindi. Eeeeeek I read your blog front to back and all over again. I can't wait to try the flange binding tutorial it's awesome and I love your guys blog!!!!

Thanks so much for even replying to my thread y'all.

I am looking for a basic star nothing fancy no ten million points. The less cutting the better cuz straight lines hate me with a passion lol.

The charm pack I got is adornit princess. I really want to highlight the pink for the most part and use the black and grey as accent. The pink suits my Lulu and the black a and silver helps so dad won't have the heebie jeebies when he's riding with her in his truck lol. Plus black and silver match our Harley.

I quilt in silence also. Helps me to concentrate and plan my next project or two or three or whatever the number is now. My mind just keeps coming up with ideas.

Silence here, too. I don't find enough of it most of the time, so I enjoy it. (Oh, and my cat, Dac, yelling a lot of the time--he's a talker!)
