I Googled Jean Wells and you may very well be right. Interesting technique. First I've heard of her. but I'm not very good at free form. A way to play with scraps with no rhyme or reason.

I did a Google Image search and it led to this page. http://daintytime.net/page/2/
I scanned the page and it appears that Sherri Lynn Wood is teaching how to make these improv quilts.

That is a wonderful technique, however, it's the dyed fabrics that really brings those quilts out. I had to go and read her tut on the process. That is my kind of sewing, cause I'm always in dif moods. Thanks for bringing this up.

I don't want to make the exact thing. I think I may have found it. I knew if I could figure out how to cut and sew curves together I could maybe figure out the rest.

Jean Wells was inducted into the Quilters Hall of Fame in 2010. She opened The Stitchin' Post in Sisters, Oregon in 1975 and started The Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show the same year. A noted quilter and teacher since the 70's, she began creating improv quilts in 2006 and teaching the techniques shortly thereafter. Her books Intuitive Color & Design and Journey to Inspired Quilting both teach the improv techniques as well. Improv quilting is growing rapidly thanks to the Modern Quilt Movement, and the fact that they both now have formal names.
