Sandwiching the layers. I don't mind the pin basting or quilting.....just the laying out part - nothing fun about it and time consuming. :-( Hand stitching down the binding is my very favorite part!

Cutting the fabric (it is boring and requires clear eyesight and concentration), constantly changing thread colors when top stitching, and heavy thinking.

My least favorite part is doing borders and after that it's making the backing...

I don't like basting and binding the quilt it is drives me crazy because when I'm basting I can never get it straight enough to pin it together and feel like I'm constantly smoothing it out. The binding is always folding and not laying down like I need it too. The best thing I like about quilting is the piecing.

Making the sandwich. But I now use basting spray and I love it. I am terrible at basting straight lines! But then, I never could WALK a straight line, not because of drinking, but because one leg is shorter than the other! LOL!

I don't like hand sewing the binding, so I usually machine sew it. It doesn't look as nice, but it's a lot more fun. I'm also not crazy about cutting batting off the roll to fit the quilt. Other than that I like every part - cutting, piecing, ironing, putting it on the frame, quilting, trimming, and binding (until I get to the hand sewing part). I think I like every step because with every step I can see such huge progress!

Sandwiching, but I also dislike attaching long borders.

Cutting. I stink at using a rotary cutter. Maybe I should try scissors.
