Thr Pfaff 130 inherently had a problem with crazing. Mine has almost no finish left on the bed. But she still sews like a bat out of h*LL!

Did you get a manual with it, if not I have a manual for my Pfaff 130 in pdf form to put on here??

I have a Pfaff 130, and all I can say about the bobbin insertion is that it is something you need to learn to do blindfolded, and that comes with practice. The machine is so heavy that tipping it to put in the bobbin almost takes two hands. Mine is in a cabinet, and there is a hole/opening in the cabinet to stick your hand through for purposes of reaching in to place the bobbin. Obviously a person can see nothing when using the cabinet opening.

I am assuming since you said the machine had been serviced that you do have the bobbin case.

One helpful hint is that the bobbin case lever, which is held in the open position when inserting the bobbin needs to be positioned at the 3 o-clock spot (middle of the right side of the circle). If you have it in any other position, the bobbin case and bobbin will drop out. In the case of my cabinet, I am then on the floor looking for it!

I might add that my Pfaff 130 is my "go to" machine. It runs fast, and I use it every day. I have a low shank generic walking foot that does the job. I will never trade this machine. I don't know if or when it has ever been serviced by a professional. I have had it about 10 years, and the only repair I have had to make is replacement of the motor.

Thanks Dayle for the tips about the bobbin. I am going to try and insert it again today and see if I can get it not to fall out.

I have a copy of the manual. I don't find it very helpful for trouble shooting, but most of them aren't.
