If you like paper piecing, you might want to look at the Judy Niemeyer patterns on http://www.quiltworx.com/

In 2016 she put out a bunch of predominately red patterns. Several have been around for a while, but take on a whole new look with the color change. Even if you don't like paper piecing you will enjoy seeing the quilts.

The Christmas quilt I made is modern and could be made in red and white fabrics.

I am unable to tell which fabrics will bleed or have excess dye in them ajust by looking at them.

I just washed two totes (58 qt. Size) of fabric last week. I put each piece in hot water by itself to see what it will do.

There were several pieces that instantly colored the water - i have had a least one piece of every color that has either been a bleeder or had a lot of excess dye in it.

I do the wash before cutting exercise because it minimizes anxiety in one little area of my life.

Googled 2 color modern quilts, any of which can be red and white. Personally I love a 9 patch and a snowball quilt. Would look awesome in red and white. https://www.google.com/search?q=two+...w=1088&bih=482
