Look on-line. I know Bernina suggests only bobbins from a dealer are acceptable but that isn't altogether true. I have a
153 Quilters Edition. I purchased and used bobbins on-line from more than one source and they are fine. Just Google "Bernina bobbins." You will find several reliable sources. You can purchase 20 bobbins for $9.95 on Amazon. Good luck. And don't be intimidated by dealers.

When I bought my last new machine I bought it online. The local dealer was miffed I didn't buy from her. I told her when she had a 30 day no questions asked return policy then she will have my business. I said the first machine I didn't like how the bobbin was winding so I returned the machine and got another one. Would she have done that? She said no only if the bobbin was broken when purchased then it would have been sent off for repair. No brainer to buy online if you ask me. All the lessons are on youtube how to use the machine when she brought that up. She had no idea they were all on youtube. The best dealer I knew honored every coupon from any craft store, had a loaner for every machine in for repair, would say don't do a thing to your machine I'm coming over when a buyer had a problem with a new machine from her. She made house calls! Her business was so successful she retired to travel the world with her DH. The new owner went bankrupt in three years.

Yes, the dealers do put pressure on you to just by from them, but as long as you know the class of bobbins needed, generic ones do fine. Having said that, I know that the top of the line Berninas are very sensitive to any little thing. So don't buy a lot of bobbins, buy just a few, from a new source until you try them out.

I worked at a Bernina store for 8 years and was never told Bernina accessories could not be mailed out. We mailed out accessories daily. This dealer services the northwest corner of North Dakota. Many of our customers were too far from the store to come in for a bobbin. Contact Bernina Plus in Minot, North Dakota. (701 837 5638) I'm sure they will mail bobbins to you. I also know these bobbins were on back order (two weeks ago) from Bernina and local stores may not have them in stock to be able to send them out.

Solomae, were you successful in finding your 7 series bobbins? I noticed another poster on the Bernina Yahoo board that was also looking for them and Portsmouth Fabric Company was also suggested there.
