Have you ever tried explaining what a church key is to a young person today? LOL

    One thing worse ....
those little plastic/foil pull tabs that are on the ends of tubes like toothpaste, salve, etc.
Not enough there for big fingers to get hold of and peel away.
    Outright annoying!
The brand coffee I use has them and OMG are you right that they are annoying! Fortunately I can (and do) slice through those and then rip them off.

I often run the cans through my electric can opener which usually works, but I'm sure there is a gadget! Millions would be delighted if you can help!
Pull tabs inside the bottles are usually made of foil and/or plastic. I just pierce them with the tip of a sharp knife to get them started. Sometimes you need more help from the knife to get enough of the foil off so you can get to the insides.

For metal pull tabs, the devices pictured in Jan's post are the way to go. Try Starcrest of California for more choices, really reasonably priced with free shipping. I've been buying from them for at least 50 years. (Seems like it. Have they been in business that long?)

I just searched for Starcrest of California and found this site:
    www.starcrest.com
Their tab puller is $4.00, and if you order $20.00 worth of anything, shipping is free.
I am not associated with the company, but have been happy with their merchandise. They have stuff I could not find elsewhere.

Those larger ones on the inside of jars/bottles aren't so bad, because they are bigger and you can slice through them with a knife/scissors.

It's those itty-bitty ones on tubes that really annoy me.
You can't slice them. You can't grab them. Ridiculous!
There's got to be a better way!!!!

I bet you could find some of these gadgets at Bed Bath & Beyond. I also use a knife, spoon, flat head screwdriver, or anything else that is around.

Actually, our WalMart still sells a church key, aka, bottle opener, with a magnet. They are still useful for opening my Modelo in bottles.
