New machine...Bernina, Pfaff, Brother???

I bought a Performance 5.0 two years ago from a local dealer and love it. It's my third Pfaff and I couldn't live without the IDT. I've never had any problem doing FMQ or using my Westalle rulers. Don't know if I would feel comfortable purchasing from a private party. The Performance 5.2 has a couple of upgrades from 5.0 but pretty much the same. Good luck in your search for new machine.

Could you explain more what you thought the pfaffs lacked?
I prefer my brother vseries to the bernina 5 series by far. I do like the pfaff IDT but for their higher end machines I still felt like they were lacking in the other areas for the cost. I used the pfaff 5.0 I believe. I'd go brother or janome IMHO the janome 9400 or 6700 are very lovely machines I would consider if I did have my dreamweaver
