Since I live alone with just my Great Dane Waylon, I don't worry about the dust and dog hair stuck to the rugs. I have finished 20 quilts this year and have another 2 ready for the longarm, and a quilt in progress. I am trying to reduce my stash, but don't seem to be seeing any progress. I do keep my stash in an orderly fashion so I can easily find what I need. I am definitely a fabricholic, and I won't admit to being crazy, but I do have more than one machine. I don't use all of them, some old ones are just collecting dust, one I use in my back bedroom when I am running the longarm with the computer. I can keep an eye on the longarm while doing some sewing on the next quilt. My sewing studio is in the basement so I can't be down there while the longarm is working away in the living room.

Hey! Quilting keeps us off the streets! I love my fabric, my machines and the quilts I make. I learn more all the time and know my work is improving. I love going to a quilt store though I need nothing. My fabric collection is neat and my cat and I love working together. I have a room for my fabric with cutting tables, ironing board and iron and a big ottoman for Peach. My sewing room has machines, iron and ironing board and a chair and bed for Peach. He actually tries to “herd” me in there. I am off today to my favorite quilt store and while I need nothing, I already know I won’t come home empty handed. Like gran of 6, I am a widow....a busy widow!��

Luvestoquilt is worried about walking the streets!.. I'm going along just fine when I find out I am related to King Richard III. So I'm at the quilt show where I sell 3 out of 28! and I mention this to the cook at the snack bar there at the show. He gets excited. Oh can you knight me?? He always wanted to be knighted.

Sure I say and now we are contacting bag pipers, Forged in Fire people to get a sword, I think I have the dress, but I need the sash and the tiara.

Will I get back to the quilts? I hope so, I've got a Bonnie Hunter class coming up.

I have 9 quilts to finish for my guild's show the end of Sept. Most need machine quilting, and two, the tops need to get sewn together and finished. I will finish one today, which will be 2 done in a week.

Good for you and it sounds like a great way to live. If I don't get to sew almost every day I get really grumpy! For some reason sewing and touching and moving fabric around in my bins makes me a happy camper. I get to have my sewing room back after 8 years as my daughter and 3 granddaughters moved in and we just had to make more bedrooms and work with what we had. But--she bought a townhouse and will be moving in August so I am really a happy camper to get my sewing room back and I don't have to sew on the dining room table anymore.

Don't do that. Your mojo will return and then you will have to pay more for less quality fabric. I often take a hiatus during the summer months as quilting when it is hot and humid doesn't appeal to me and the humidity can make tension problematic. This summer I am taking time off to learn to play the piano that I have been dusting since I got it 8 years ago. I've been wanting to learn to play since I was a child. So I am starting at 60. This old dog is learning a new trick

I try to quilt at least an hour or two a day. Been so busy this month, I haven's got to sew at all in over a month. Hopefully I can get time to do some more on my quilt this coming weekend.

Yes to all your statements. I "Do the Froggie" Dance of the Quilter, I binge. I too, am trying very hard to get things completed and my stash in some sort of condition that is not a problem. But many of us are just SABLE kinds of gals. (Stash Accumulation Beyond Life Expectancy) I know I cycle around all the time. Even when I'm on a trip, I think about what fabric I'll be buying etc.
I consider my obsession a Public Service. Just give me my machines, my fabric and my coffee - an "No One" gets hurt. It keeps me home and others out of my way.
