Unfortunately ... chances are this may be all too true.

As a possibility .... By chance does the intended recipient have friends still living in the neighbourhood of the old address? Might be worth their showing up at the old address and chatting with the new resident!

    Good Luck ...

That's not what I experience with the Post Office. We get good service.

I do hope your quilt get to the new mom.

I heard a post ofie employee talking to customer yesterday.....of all things the customer have sent a package 1 mile from her location. It was certified how is where the post office is showing it's still in transit and the post office employee explained all packages now being sent and received by the US government take priority over all other mail and the other mail gets stacked up and the government mail and packages go out first....so you may be waiting a while. Best wishes.

Let the USPS know what happened. they can look into it for you. The carrier who delivered it may be able to pick it up and send ti back to you. I talked to my sister who was a carrier for 35 years and this was her suggestion.

Thank you so much! I am waiting to hear back from the rental office-the address was an apartment. If they can’t help, I will call the local post office. Mommy did a reverse lookup and got a phone number-has left 2 messages with no reply.

Doing a happy dance, cautiously! The package has been returned to the PO and was forwarded this morning...finger, eyes and toes crossed that it is delivered unharmed! Whew.

That's great news!! As much as I grumble about the post office they really do a good job.

I didn’t receive pkg that tracking showed delivered. Went to my local post office and the got the postman that delivered it. He went to the location he delivered to, retrieved pkg and delivered to me. Learned that the person delivering knows exactly where. Have her go to local post office and they will find person that delivered it.

Great! My mother never did recover a hand-knit baby blanket she sent to my DD2. Why she didn't send it to *me* to hand-deliver, I don't know, but she sent it to the the apartment they'd lived in 3 years previously! They'd moved twice since then, and I guess she just never noticed the change of address.
