I started with layer cakes and ended up with 13" blocks. I also did not starch; but will from now on. May also use the walking foot.
Most people try to keep the pinwheels in the same direction but it's not a requirement!
Pretty fabric. The formula for 10 in fabric to start says 12.8 so 13 is acceptable. Just be sure they are ALL the same size to make it easier to put together.
That sounds like a winning idea! I must dig out the 1/4" foot also.

I resewed one of the blocks so they all go right now. And I switched to the 1/4" foot with guide, gives me a more accurate seam. I am making a queen size, so I ordered another pack. It will probably be 7 blocks across x 8 or 9 long, then borders. We'll see.

Please help: I'm afraid I don't understand what your "mistake" is.

OK I think I got all the questions answered. If not post again or PM me.

Welcome to all the new people.
I'll have to go through this whole topic and count how many we are now and how many we have at the end!
I hope it's the same number!
Remember it's easier to keep up then try to catch up but we are not having a race! Some people will only need a smaller amount than 78 and some will need more. The important thing is steady progress.
If you know you have a busy week coming up then make ahead!
We won't be sending the quilt police if you do fall behind so relax and enjoy the ride!

It sounds like most have their fabric and are almost ready to go!
Great!
:-D

Most pinwheels are made with a light and a darker and try to keep them in the same position on each block.
If you look at her blocks one has the light in one position and the other has the dark in that position.
Not really a mistake but not what she wanted.

This sounds really fun...I'm in. Makes sorting out all my fabric over the last couple of days well worth the effort...having two projects on the go will be a challenge...but as you say not a race

I had a "solid along side a solid". I'm posting a before & after pic. Things like that bother me.

I like paper piecing pinwheel blocks. It's fast and everything matches up perfectly.
