For H5, the first thing that springs to mind is the print scale.... when printing pdf files it's quite common for adobe (or whatever application you use) to scale the page down slightly before it prints. Even a 10% reduction would make a big difference when working with such small blocks.

As for the triangle, I look at the pattern and while it looks fairly involved, it seems like a methodical block to do. I'm intrigued now (and more than a little scared!) so I've printed it out and I'm going to see if I have any trouble with it.

Photos would be good, someone may be able to see why it's not working for you.

And this is exactly why doing the DJ together is so awesome, because we can help each other when we get stuck. :-) The circle ones are giving me nightmares, I've never done a curved seam (apart from applique) so I'll be needing a pile of you to hold my hand when we get to those! lol

Thanks. I didn't realize the terms "mirror" and "reversed" were the same.

i have to agree that the PDF to printer can alter the size.

for the christmas swap some people did fine with their PDF but then others contacted me that it was short.

for the people who came up short i found that increasing the block size to 4.63 made it come out just right on their end when printing out the PDF.

It took me half an hour to figure out the pieces of paper went together, let alone putting the fabric on! LMAO

There *is* a very smalll y seam, I didn't realise it was there till I was cutting out the paper... where section E joins the one above it (mine don't all get Letters which is annoying) there is a very faint Y seam.

And now that I've said that, should we be focusing on the blocks for the first week in here? I don't want to hijack or scare anyone too early on ;-)

Okay, got most of it worked out. I sewed unit g backwards, so I just redid it and will put it together for BR2.

For the blocks, I went to a different computer in my house, loaded the DJ software, and printed out the patterns directly. So, I'm back in business!! Woo hoo.

I've also got two IRR's and my doll quilt to do. Crikey (as Lesley would say) I've got a lot to do!!

BC which unit shows E? If it like mine the unit that is labeled E is in fact A. Klue showed this on about page 11 and 12 of the topic post how this triangle goes together. For some reason the printing using work with block and work with quilt don't always print the same way. I think the software is possessed.

Because of the sashing I'm using, I have a DJ Project saved that has the sashing and triangles at their different sizes to the normal one. I always select the block off the *work on quilt* table, and then use the little print button at the top of the screen and make sure "size from quilt" is picked. That way I never get the wrong size and always get the exact block.
