I stopped at the Post Office this afternoon to check my envelops for weight. They are 9 oz. and will go first class with one $.44 stamp in the USA. I took zip bags that are 7" wide and folded the fabric to fit the width and as tall as a #10 business envelope. I cut the zip part off and used packaging tape to close them. I think the zips are what get chewed up going through the mailing process and mangle the envelopes. Hope this helps someone with questions about the postage. I'm ready to mail mine.

Where's the list????? ;-) (Also jumping up and down rapidly)

    Thanks!

    Odessa,
I want to thank you for the great suggestion about how to make the swap a bit more time manageable with work, family and just life in general. I have everything ready to go out but I don't know why I hadn't thought about how to break it down in bite size pieces when I actually get to the assembling of the blocks. I think I just get so held up on looking at patterns and stuff, boy if I spent as much time into actually making the blocks and quilts as I do looking at patterns I'd get a lot done...lol
but thanks for the suggestions and you can believe I'm going to use them. I love this group someone always has great ideas and everyone is so helpful and supportive.
    Thanks again,
    Muriel

    Robin,
I just wanted to say that some of Wal-Marts fabric are pretty nice, you just have to check like April was saying if your hand shows through its a pretty good sign of quality.
I would love to have one of your patches. We've all began somewhere and most of us one of the first patterns we did was a nine patch. So please send them on and so glad you've joined.

Salmonsweet, I'm so glad it arrived safely. It must have taken a speedy jet. It got there much sooner than I expected.

Hoppyfrog, thanks for the suggestion to cut off the zipper part of the bag. Brilliant!

I have purchased great fabrics from Wal-Mart, JoAnns and even LQS but everyone has different budgets and different availability based on where they live so please if Wal-mart fabric is what you have than that is what you use and do not feel bad for doing so!
Odessa I am with you luv! I have about 8 more to do I think and a few Quilt Bee blocks for March. Fell a little behind with all of Izabella's medical stuff in March!

When you say put your hand behind it ... do you hold your material up to the light with your hand behind the material? Or do you just put your hand behind the fabric?

I should just send you some of mine and let you tell me if it's good or not :)

    Robin,
Generally I just put my hand behind it not up to the light as the light will cast shadows that can give false reads on material. If you pick up a bolt and separate the material and put your hand between the two layers and can see your hand then it may not be the best choice.
No need to send me to tell you-if you think it is good than that is what matters! We are all friends here and we all started somewhere :-)
    Hugs
