My sewing "room" is actually the guest room - so when someone comes over - everything has to be put away.

I have room in the basement I have a radio and TV down there . What makes it nice is you don't have to put anything away when you quit for the day.

    I really like it. :-)

How right you are. Have to do something with the empty rooms.

Oh yes a sewing room is a MUST for any quilter/sewer/hobby person! My grands love to go through the material(of which I have much but that is dwindling, hmm time to shop !LOL) and find a pattern (of which I have many many of them!lol) and find something to sew for them to wear. Or maybe even make a quilt as we have done in the past for them. I like the quiet except for a radio playing that makes it nice and the hum of one of my machines!

It depends on who is coming to visit. My sewing room doubles as a guest room but the bed is awesome for laying items out on. I have a cutting board that I lay out on the bed when I am working.

I have my computer and office and sewing all in one room. Room is 13 x 12. I know one thing , it is not big enough with ironing board up and batting and patterns and all ther other stuff.

I mostly do, until the grandkids come. Them my darling Davis, little grandboy gets the room because it has a bed in it. When he comes I pretty much dismantle my large peg board and remove all of the sewing machines and anything else that might be damaged by inquisitive little minds!! Our lovely Lila is not yet old enough to worry about -still in a pack and play when they come to visit. But as she grows - yikes!!!! Truly though, I would give up my designated sewing space in a minute if those kids lived close enought to sleep an Nom Noms house every week!!! And, even when it is my sewing room I have to cut on the dining room table. I've had a huge June Taylor cutting mat on the DR table for so long my husband is convinced that it is just a really ugly table cloth!!!

I turned my small extra bedroom 10' X 10' into my sewing room. It's small, but I absolutely love it!! I can shut the door when I'm finished, and I "DARE" anyone other than my husband to go in there when I'm working on a quilt!! Messy!!
