Thank you cutey & K too.Maybe I need to look tomor with fresh eyes....kind of looks all the same to me.Anyway.....had a 4" piece of thread in thread uptake that would not come out & I tried & tried.DH comes home, gets what he says is a special screw driver, took head cover off & pulled thread back & out.Problem solved!

I would have been lost without your tute.....so thank you very much.Now don't go away,I'll be waving for help many times. BTW...love the narrow border look on your red OBW.Was that a pain to sew on?

I would have been tempted to cut them a bit smaller which would have given you a better color difference, but it is a learning process, your difference will just be a bit more subtle, I do see it, the one in the top left is much darker than the one on the top right, once you get more of them sewn and start laying them out, stand back and it will be more obvious, it is amazing just loosing the seam allowance can do to some of them as well, it is all about over all value when it is done,

the borders are all easy as they are all straight seams in the end,

I cut them 3 1/2"....but next time, will go smaller.When I look at these, think of my older DD. She likes bright colors....so it has her name on it:-)

When cutting I pick out a flower or what ever and measure it and go with about that size, give or take a 1/4 inch, that is why there really isn't a cutting size unless someone has shown me the print, that way it has a chance of just being that color, and will be multiple shades in between as it catches what is around it, but it is also a personal choice, depends on the look that you are trying to achieve as well, the larger the print, the larger the block,

I hate starching and I hate doing things that don't need to be done, some just found it easier, it put their mind at ease to do it, or they had washed it and needed to put some stiffness back into it, you do what you need to do to quilt,

I was going to starch, but was feeling lazy.Decided to spray starch if need be.So that was one step not needed & didn't pre wash, so that helped.
