Donna, Your quilt is lovely. I especially like your selection for the sashing and cornerstones.

Quilterscache has lots of blocks if you do need more blocks. Auntjo posted the link.

Thanks, Anael (and Auntjo!). I popped on there, found 4 I like, and am changing things around so it is a 12 row, 12 column quilt. I think I will like it much better that way. Will post pictures of the nice blocks when they are done. Appreciate all the good ideas!

OH. Donna......your SBS is gorgeous. I so love the beige corner stones and wide sashing...it is so subtle a color contrast that your blocks and the fabulous fabrics you used just pop off the page and it really gives the scrappy colors a soft and homey feel...Just beautiful!!! Congratulations! Looks like you are on your way for a design change with the additional blocks. I like that idea of a 12x12 layout for this quilt. Dotty did hers that way too, I think, as well as auntjo.

Donna Pea, I love your idea of moving the blocks around and making just a couple of more to finish it off. I have never made this quilt so, I didn't even think of doing that. It's a great idea. And, you know what will work best for you on your bed.

I just sent a quilt off to the quilter that I made a lot larger then I normally would, owing to the fact that the whole quilt was 1/2 square triangles. This is a test. The first 2 times I sent her quilts to quilt for me, they were also totally bias edge blocks. I had a lot of shrinkage. (They fit the guest bed better then my Queen bed. No great loss.) So, this time, I made it quite a bit bigger then normal and will test out how it comes back when it's quilted.

I finished my Patriotic Quilt and have the backing ready to go to the quilter. Now to catch up on a few things that I have pushed to the side. I saved all year to have 8 quilts quilted this year. I have the money for one last one and that is it, My Seeing Stars Quilt. Now to start on saving for 8 more quilts for next year. I'm trying to finish off those UFO's. I hope I don't have more big UFO's then that. I plan on quilting all the small ones myself. (Baby and Toppers and Lap size.) Anything else, and I really like to just get them LA'md if possible. I am not a good quilter.

Oh Donna- this looks incredible! So, so happy for you! Wish I could work on mine more. Yours has turned out just stunning. I have done 2 Kings-no more. You can put a 12" border on sides, and a 4" or 6" on the ends for the contrast and to frame. I love your sashing. Way to go!

Thanks for the kind comments. I found 2 blocks on Quilters Cache - the 1st is Crazy Amish Quilt (which I really like), the 2nd 4 Patch Variation.

I tried a few more from that site, found they were going to finish at 6", not 6.5", decided I just didn't have time to fool with changing them. Colorgirlquilts.com also had some that didn't need any adjusting and were quick & easy. After all, I thought I was done making blocks!

So there we are - a 12 x 12 quilt, all sashed & ready for a border. Going shopping for that fabric this week, will post a picture when the border is on and it's ready to start quilting.

And Judith, I'll be eager to see your finished products! Sounds like you have quite a few UFO's - what fun to see them come together.

Yes Teen I did. I took more blocks from Jennifer Chiaverini's book "The Loyal Union Sampler " to make up the shortfall. Any other 6inch block would fit OK. Your SBS's are all looking amazing - I still follow you all even though I finished my SBS ages ago !
