I won't tell on you if you won't tell on me. I finished up a blouse yesterday and was really bummed because the hand stitching where the collar stand meets the front was peeking out below the seam. I took a dark blue gel pen and colored those stitches and it blends in real nice with the small floral print. Only I know. I was not going to re-do it for anything. I have used permanent marker on spots on jeans and jackets, too. I admit I have done this to my quilted wallhangings, and no one has ever noticed. I don't even notice it anymore. I would do the same for a quilt if I had to. They promote those markers as having all kinds of uses, don't they?

I did that with a black pen once to color out the tip of a green stem that exceeded its boundaries. Whatever works!

Use a shield to protect the area next to where you are marking.

This is an erasing shield just to give you the idea.

I do that, too. You know the old saying -- She who cheats best, WINS!

Only lightly touch the pen to the thread, otherwise it will run into the fabric.

    I don't see a problem with it. But that's just me. :)

So far all my quilts have been SID and they've all meandered over the ditch but after wash you really can't see. I'm sure yours will be fine too.

I thought I was the only one who cheated that way. I always use permanent fabric markers though, nothing else, because I just think that is the best thing to use. It surely does beat pulling out stitches and trying to do them again and have it look right.
