i have to try this! A local farmer bring us in huge bags of corn every year. Last year some of my co workers didn't take any and it went bad. I had to bring it home and get rid of it so he wouldn't see it in our trash. I wonder can it be freezed (once i take the corn off the cob)? I told DH i was going to take whatever was left and freeze (another co worker freezes it) rather than seeing it go to waste again!

I saw this and have been doing it. You don't even have to use the microwave. I soak the ears and put them on the grill, or bake them in the oven, and the ears still come out of the husk clean and silk free. Clean up is soooooo much easier

After I saw this video this is the only way we eat corn on the cob! It is fast and delicious and those kernals come right off the cob cleanly!

Wish I'd have known this when our sweet corn was in season. Oh, well...next year!

Here is an easy recipe for freezer corn, and you don't have to blanch it on the cob beforehand.

    Frozen Sweet corn
10 cups raw corn, cut off the cob
    1 1/2 cups water
    1/4 lb butter (8 tbsp)
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt

Combine all ingredients in saucepan; bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes.
Cool. Pour into freezer containers or freezer bags and freeze.

    Enjoy!

I tried this and it did not work for me. But, told a friend of ours (a widower who doesn't know how to cook) and he said it worked fine for him. So, will try again soon and see if it works on different corn.

I tried it and it worked great. To us it tasted the same as boiled or in a microwave bag.
