I think it is a cheerful quilt -- I like your idea of evening out the blocks to a square with pinwheels in between or whatever! You're doing great!

My BIL- the baby of the family- got married 5 yrs ago at the age of 38 and my MIL made him a quilt with these same panels only her back ground was a deep green. So its definetly a little boys quilt. She also made one for the bride -but it was Holly Hobby. These are for future grand babies. As she put it "A hillbillies symbol of fertility" --Their from East Tennessee so she can say this.

I would not add anything thing to the blocks. Piece as they are. To make the quilt longer, I would add borders after piecing the block section of the quilt. Maybe using some of the backing if you have enough, or using a green as in the blocks.

Actually the "quilt" is yet to be. I only laid out the printed blocks on a blue batik background to see if that would work for alternate blocks. My DIL says I should keep to the earth tones since this is a "farming" project and make a brown border around the tractors to blend better with the "sky" blue blocks. What is your thought?

I love the cheerful yellows and greens, but when there are so many "pre-fab" prints to include it seems to be a bit overkill. There are at least 5 other pieces of fabric meant to go in this project that are all tractors with various backgrounds and sizes.
