I have no problem starting another quilt before one is finished. I don't even know how many quilts I have in progress. Sometimes I completely lose interest and abandon projects too.

I am definately a starter! Finishing is the challenge. I also set a goal to finish 1 per month this year. I have 1 finished, with 5 needing binding. So way more work done this year than in my entire quilting career!

Board swaps sidetracked me this year...certainly not counting those as started projects!

I get bored working on the same thing...starts to feel like punishment after a while. And I feel the guilt of starting something new. So...I usually go with the better awful feeling and start something new.

    Nope, same boat.

I only have 3 rag quilts done this year .... And so hope I Start One, Finish One!!!! NOT like my knitting . Unfinished knit things everywhere, and very hard to go back and pick up where you left off ... The rhythm just isn't there any more

so, I am hoping, ONE quilt at a time!!!!

I have lots of started projects. This year my goal was to finish some of them. I also know that I would want to start new projects so here was my plan: for every 2 UFO's I completed I could start a new project but I HAD to complete it and not put it away. So far so good. I am finishing some things and reward myself with something new I want to do. I think next year I will do 3 for 1. I may get more of the UFO's out of here. Many of them just need to be quilted or just a few blocks finished to get to the quilting.

I like to jump around. I rarely ever finish a quilt without starting something else(not including the projects I've already started). I like to keep sewing fun. If I feel like finishing it...I do. If not, I let the top sit in a pile until I feel like quilting. Then, I go in a quilting frenzy and have to quilt as much as I can.

Looks like I belong to that club too. Sometimes I just get bored, sometimes I have an urgent deadline and get side-tracked. Many UFOs to finish.

I only have one quilt project going at one time, but I may have a knitting project or a crocheting project going at the same time as a quilt. I do have a money constraint, I can only buy with cash and I have a time constraint, I work full-time. My current fabric budget is small so I can only buy fabric and batting for one quilt project at a time which is fine by me. My stash is growing slowly with the extra yardage I buy for each quilt, but it will be a while before I could even think about making a quilt from my stash.

As a brand new quilter, I am more interested in finishing something before I start another. As a knitter, however, I have a terrible time finishing anything. Now, in knitting, when I tire of a project or if it sits too long, I just unravel the whole thing and then have a whole new world of possibilities. Fabric, on the other hand - once you cut it..... I'm afraid this new hobby could get horribly expensive if I let my creative side get too far in front of me. I haven't done anything that any of you would call challenging yet, so nowhere to get "stuck" - just trying to work on cutting and seaming well.

No, you aren't alone !!! I quilt with a quilting bee of 7 women and we all have our UFO's sitting on the shelf waiting to be done. I know that I have about 10 tops that need borders, 3 that need to be bound and about 8 that need to be finished. I am going away for a few months this winter and I have promised myself to finish 5 of the tops that are anywhere from 1/2 finished to 3/4 finished. The 10 tops sitting on the top of my book shelf will have to wait a bit to be quilted, I want to learn to FMQ them. I am constantly running into beautiful quilt tops at antique/flea markets and then after I repair them, they sit for awhile. It's my hobby and I dearly love this art of quilting, so I don't give or take any grief about it, I just love all of it. I live near casinos so I always figure instead of gambling and getting nothing for it, I quilt and get so much from it.
