Its ok because I did it too. One of our fabric stores had all their sale fabric marked down to $2. All high quality. I think my friend and I each bought about 36+ yards. They also had buy 12 fat quarters and get 12 free. NOW I need to stop.

I never make New Year's resolutions. I've never heard of any of my friends sticking to them. All they do is make them feel like failures. So, I know I can't NOT buy any fabric in 2013, and I know I can't absolutely 100% stick to a diet, so I don't make plans. I try to stick to diets as best I can and not buy new fabric, but no promises. That way I still feel okay with myself no matter what I do. Remember what they say: You make plans and God laughs. There will be a gigantic sale January 2nd!

I love this board! I think even if I confessed to doing something really bad, the people on this board could show me how it was justified! Happy New Year everyone!

That is one resolution that I don't make. I will break it the first week. It's sort of like the losing weight theory. lol

It is hard to keep an unrealistic resolution. You can maybe amend it that you will try to use what you have first, but that it is ok to shop if you need a border, sashing, or backing. Even though I have a lot of fabric, I don't always have everything that I need to make the quilt look like I want it to...so I use what I have first, and then shop to add what I need. I haven't bought all new fabric to make a quilt in many years. Mostly as I don't have a lot of extra money to shop with, but also as I am trying to use what I have if I can.
