I was trying to figure out how to describe what I thought would be good and scrolled down and spied Baloonatic's spirals. That is almost what I was thinking! Small world. Then I saw her second idea. You might consider the spirals in the white and the curved triangles on the prints of vice-versa.

Someone suggested hearts. How about hearts in all the white triangles, and leave the other ones empty. That will look very nice on the back too.

I was going to suggest the curves too. You can even do them using the walking foot if you prefer that. You can do one arc one direction and meander to the other side doing the next. When you are done with one line, do the other direction and you will end up with a serpentine set of curves.

I think echo quilting would be very modern, but you don't want to do straight lines so I would go with the curves, please post pics when you're finished.
