I have made many of her quilts and they have turned out as perfect as anyone can make them. I'm a huge fan of hers, I have never taken a class of hers, but it's on my wish list.

yes, i do that too...so much better than raw edge......on you tube there are a series of her webenairs as well and the " old tv series". She is a hoot at those live in audience shows...from watching I just ordered her pineapple and her twirling stars patterns......and her rulers/templates are so easy to read.....hate the yellow ones!!!!!!

I have made one of her quilts (Gadabout), her patterns are very easy, especially for the beginner that I was...it was my 2nd quilt and my first queen size!

I'm an EB fan too. When I teach quilting to newbies, I always start them with her Quilt in a Day Log Cabin. It is almost impossible to mess up.

I am a big fan of Eleanor Burns and have several of her books, and have made several quilts from those books. One year the family reunion quilt I made was the Dresden Plate from her book, forget which one now, but my brother, who won the quilt, and is known for voicing his opinion, whether nice or not - he told me that it would be hard to outdo that quilt as it was the best one I ever did; quite a compliment from him, especially. My family came through with some gorgeous medium fabrics that did make a spectacular quilt, I like to think it was my skill as a quilter, however, my family was on the same wave length when choosing their fabrics. I also made the Lover's Knot quilt for my son and his fiancé, although when she called the wedding off, it became the "Lover's NOT" quilt, which I finished and donated to my church for the raffle quilt at the Holiday Fair where it made over $2,000; not a record but close, and out of sadness came joy. I love her patterns as the directions are easy to follow, allowing me the pleasure in making spectacular quilts.

haven't made anything after watching her videos....she is too fast for me -- besides, i prefer to do it my way --LOL. she seems quite the saavy teacher, however. go ahead & try it!

Years ago I was able to sit in a sewing/quilting convention and she quizzed us on various blocks asking what they were. I did not quilt then but had watched plenty of her shows and knew them all. She has such an interesting background and has come along way since then.
I never get tired of watching her. I did make an Irish Chain quilt using her book. Eleanor Burns is to quilting as Nancy Zieman is to sewing.

My first quilt was a Log Cabin, and it was step-by-step by EB. Love her way of teaching and learned a lot from her. The Log Cabin is still my favorite.
