    I like your WIP quilt and congrats on using your stash I need to do more of that. It would be a nice challenge

    I have used some of my stash to complete backing of my quilts and they end up interesting, almost like an improv modern touch. I don't stress over how it will look either.

    Happy quilting

    When I am starting a project, I let my bought fabric tell me who wants to "play". I've made a lot of scrappies and like having many different kinds of fabric. I also do a lot of machine applique, and need a fair amount of variety.

    Personally, I really like the yellow background for your cats. That pale yellow is also a great fabric to use for the lights in a cool color quilt. I love your idea of using what you have and that's usually my route when planning my next quilt. HOWEVER....I really, REALLY want to make a red and white pineapple quilt and I don't have a lot of red fabric. I guess I'll have to buy more.
    :::::sigh::::::

    Is that bad?

    I don't let stash decide what I'm going to make because most of what I have is not background fabric. So, if I'm going to do a scrappy quilt, I have to buy a background that works with the collection of scraps that I have. hey, I have lots of novelty fabrics and fabrics that don't really go together otherwise.
