Thank you for the review. I just got the rulers and signed up for a class with Leonie on Cratsy. I got the spacing ruler with my set but had no idea what it was or what it was used for.

Wonderful review Watson...it sounds like you learned a lot through the extensive seven week course. I have the rulers but would really benefit from a class, especially with a good instructor. Don’t forget to post your QAYG when finished.

I bought the starter set which came with the spacer. Didn't know there was a book. I've played with them a little watching YouTube videos, but haven't had time to really work at it. I'm hoping there are some classes coming up in the Dallas area. Thanks for your excellent review.

I too want to thank you for your great review, photos, and links. I have spoken to Bill West of Westalee and am just about ready to buy and try the rulers and foot. I just need to decide which machine I want to work on as that will tell me which foot to buy. Your blocks really did turn out well especially for a first timer. Again, thank you for taking the time to post all of the information and your thoughts.

Thimblebug6000, I am using a Singer S18, which is the same as a Janome 6500. It is a low shank machine. Regardless of what machine you use, any Westalee dealer will tell you which foot to buy.

The best use it found for the spacer gauge was when doing long straight lines. You put the 1/4 spacer at the far end of the ruler and you know your line will be in the right spot all the way along
