I am 5'7" and my ironing board is at 36 inches. and the board is about 4 inches below my waistline. now I"m long waisted so that may be neither here or there as far as exact measurements for you. I would think 36" too tall for you , but keep trying it and then try it lower. somewhere. then you will know what works. good luck.

I am almost 5'4", and my ironing board with the big board on top is 36" which works for me. I try to not do anything, standing or sitting, for an extended length of time!

I'm 5' 4". My cutting table is 35 3/4" tall and the over sized ironing board sits on top of a regular metal iron board. It's 35" tall.
I'm just starting to move everything around for a better work triangle and will have a small pressing station next to my machine, at least that is the plan.

Don't forget how high your cutting surface is. My back problems went away when I added bed risers to my banquet cutting table. Now I can cut forever and it doesn't hurt.

Many years ago, I was advised by an orthopedic physician not to sit in one place (or anything else) for long periods of time -- at least once an hour I needed to get up from my desk and walk a little (cervical spine problems). Of course, my then boss told me, yes, I could get up, walk around my desk and then right back, sit down and go to work -- sort of the behavior of a jerk(?). Sitting or standing in the same position for long periods of time is bad for your spine, whether the cervical spine, thoracic spine or lumbar spine. This becomes even more of a problem in our later years -- you don't need to ask why -- I've had spinal problems for many years, and, in fact, was forced to retire about three years ago, after working as a legal assistant/legal secretary for the same attorney for 30+ years, who, by the way, is not the employer who made that horrible suggestion about getting up, walking around my desk and going back to work. I was 5'2" high, but we all lose some height as we age. My ironing board is very much adjustable, and right now sits at 34" at the top.

I am 5'4" and my board is 38" from the floor. Have back and neck issues. This is the most comfortable height for me.

    5' 3 3/4" here.......

Both my ironing board and cutting table measure 36" from the floor to the surface of each work areas.
I agree with the previous suggestion about an anti-fatigue mat to stand on. Nice ones can be bought at Bed, Bath & Beyond, ugly shop looking ones at Harbor Freight.
