I have done catalog and online shopping with Keepsake Quilting, Hancock's of Paducah, Nancy's Notions, Jordan Fabrics, eQuilter and Connecting Threads for many, many years and always been happy with their products. In the last year I have discovered both fantastictreasures4u, and Claudia's Sewing House on eBay and have bought a lot from them with no problems. They both have wonderful service, fast delivery and great prices on quality fabric. Lastly, on Etsy is Jambearies that is great to work with and Crafty Hollow Quilts which sell by the 1/2yd. and are going out of business so all their beautiful fabric is 50% off. As you can tell, I haven't joined the fabric moratorium, but I have bought a lot of beautiful usable fabric to replace the hundreds of yards that I donated or sold 2 years ago.

I do almost zero online shopping - for fabric or otherwise. I have ordered from fabric.com when I needed something particular and was extremely pleased. I will also recommend http://theoldcountrystore.com. I normally go to their brick and mortar store in Lancaster, PA. They have excellent quality fabrics and very reasonable prices.

There are so many good places! A lot depends on what you like, what size, all sorts of things.

When I am looking for fabric, I am often looking for some very specific things and so my next stop is Amazon. Long story but I had my Ebay user identity stolen and really try not to go there.
Several of my Amazon deals led me to this local chain in Michigan -- right from where my Hubby is from!

I want to cast a vote for Field's Fabrics in Michigan. I am so fortunate to have one of their shops about 10 minutes from home, so I never order online. They are a family owned business that has been around for years and years. Although with 7 sites they qualify as a "chain", each store has the feel of a local quilt shop. Employees know their "stuff" from making garments to home decorating to of course quilting. They will help you measure, double check your calculations and are full of ideas. But bottom line is the quality of their fabric is very good to excellent. Don't be afraid to order from them! I have shopped in three of their stores and never been disappointed.

I do most of my fabric shopping on line now. Our closest LQS closed a long time ago. I usually shop fabric.com. I recently added 5 bucks a yard. I will also shop Hancock from time to time.
I too have been doing my best with the fabric moratorium. I have had to buy some fabrics for backing and of all things ran out of WOW!
I also bought fabric one time at JAF when I got it for a penny a yard on sale. I couldn't pass that up.

I want all these shops, both on line and local, to be there when...and if I actually do need fabric. So I spend a lot of my kids inheritance and yes, I have a lot of fabric. My favorites are Quilted Twins, Craft Town in Indiana, and one very obscure place in New England with an Ebay address: franks11. You can't order a specific fabric, but rather yardage and bundles of a theme, or at least that's what I did. I'm just terrible at picking out neutrals for Bonnie Hunter's mysteries. So I just told franks11 to pick out for me 100 yards in 5 yard pieces. I'm still working out of that shipment. I was most pleased, and I got a great deal.
