Welcome from central Alabama. What a great start you have. The little spiderweb in the corner is great.

I have arthritis in my hands, too. I find hand applique hard to do, but if I don't get in a hurry it is possible.

Have you checked out the Missouri Star Quilt videos? They have some wonderful techniques that make some interesting quilts.
