I totally forgot to get back to you on this! I didn't find anything conclusive, but I would think 12 inches or thereabouts would be about right. I guess when it comes down to brass tacks, it would depend on what you compare it to.

I have read that some of you like triflow for a lubricant. I have a large 9 needle embroidery machine that has not been used in a while and it seems to be frozen up. Please tell me how you buy the triflow. Is it called lubricant-- how is it packaged-- spray, drip can or what? I have several other machines to fix and those of you who use this stuff seem to be having good luck with the triflow. Thanks for an answer.

I just measured my 1924 Singer 99, and here's what I have:
Height at front post, not including the knob on the top 7 3/4 "
Length of machine base 12 "
Width of machine base 6 5/8 "
Inner arm length from needle to base of arm 6 1/4 "
Hand wheel of 1924 4" and of my 1928-13 ( I thought it was larger, and it is) 4 1/2 "
Any other measurements you would like of the 3/4 machines?

AH HA!!!!! So ..... you're the one that got that machine. I was kinda watching it cos it is soooooooo purty, but I didn't bid on it.

Since we seem to both be bidding on GW perhaps we should exchange bidder names so we don't compete with each other ...... um too much anyway.

There's one on GW right now we bid on. We're out bid but that's subject to change. I don't wanna list it here, might give somebody ideas ..... LOL

on page 3 I posted my Minnesota ~B~ and said I thought it might be a 3/4 sized machine. My reasoning was the same as yours. It's pretty small in the harp area. But Miriam and Mizkaki started running some measurements by me and it's actually closer to a full sized machine than a 3/4 size. Since yours looks really close to the same size as my Minnesota I'll be it measures out as a full size too.

You can buy Tri-flow from www.sew-classic.com or from your local bicycle shop - You can buy it in a bottle with a straw on it and you can buy it in a spray can. I would use it sparingly with the bottle on all the moving parts of the embroidery machine rather than spraying it. Just go around and drop some on each potentially moving part - turn the hand wheel as you go - even slight turning may get oil in. If you can tilt the head in different directions it would help the oil to go into the parts that move. The Triflow will help dissolve the old gunky oil and it will keep it from rusting - provides a moisture barrier.

Yes, I did snag her, and for a good price! I am just so happy with her!! I am basing my 3/4 size guess on her overall size...the fact that her base is curved close to the back of the column may be deceiving my perception. But I'm going to measure her when I get home. She is cute and everything moves smoothly, and her attachments are in awesome condition....very clean and most of them there. Did you see my pictures on the Pictures thread?

In my wanderings for work today, I passed an antique mall a good ways from home so I sneaked in for a few minutes on my own time of course... Anyway I saw all kinds of sewing machines - in disarray. There was a black 301 in need of TLC for $99 - I have two at home needing homes anyway so it is still there - a nice parlor type for $700 something - it's still there too. There were hacked up tables a few over priced attachments... I'm looking for a small old time dinette table like from the 1950s. And I'm on the prowl for some old metal cabinets - I've pretty much got most of what I need but you never know... something might fill out the set just a bit.
