I'm not sure why you aren't liking it, unless your personal taste isn't "scrappy." The dark blue with the red setting stones really ties it together, and it looks great. A perfect quilt for a man. Especially for a beginner, you're doing great!

When I find that I am not happy with something I tend to walk away from it for awhile. Take a break & look at it with new eyes another day (or week!) Your brain may just be on overload right now. The quilt is lovely & you may surprise yourself by really liking it next week.

You are doing a wonderful job on your son's quilt. I agree with the other posts, it is manly and the dark blue denim really pulls it together nicely. Keep up the great work!

I think the denim makes the squares "pop". Great job! I love it!

Love it!! The denim is perfect. You've totally inspired me to buckle down and do the same thing with the shirts I've been saving for a quilt.
    Thank you!!

I don't normally like scrappy quilts, but this one is very nice and neat. The denim sashing actually doesn't make look too scrappy at all. I would keep going i love it and i am sure your son will appreciate it a lot.

Thank you all so much for your kind words of encouragement. I have been working hard on this and have had to put it aside briefly as my husband and I both have had the flu. Today's my first day to work any significant time on it.

Maybe I should just call it a day and look at it with new eyes tomorrow! :-)
