"practice makes perfect" ?????? not in my house when it comes to certain things - especially of the sewing variety!
Perfect doesn't find its way into my vocabulary very often ....
You did a wonderful job .... yes, maybe not "perfect", but wonderful nonetheless ....
Once it is finished, you won' notice it .... and five years from now you are likely to not be able to find it at all .....
I ironed all my seams open. I had no trouble matching points on the pinwheels, but I found that when attaching the strip of sewn squares to the next row, I had trouble lining everything up. I thought I had done a good job with my 1/4 inch, but practice makes perfect, right?

Make sure your seams are ironed in opposite directions, and when you put the two pieces together, 'nestle' the seams together real well, and pin. I don't know any other way to describe but 'nestle'. Looks great to me! I wouldn't change, or redo, a thing! Each quilt is a learning experience, don't waste time trying to be perfect. Enjoy the process, do you best at that time, & move on to the next step, or the next quilt. I think it looks lovely!...
