I will have to agree with the yo-yo quilt...probably will never make one of those, though making a few for some embellishment would probably be ok.
I have never made a bargello quilt, but have seen some beautiful ones, especially a bargello heart quilt. Log cabins are one of my favorites, so nothing creepy there for me.
Each type of quilt in it's own way is a great quilt...at least to someone. We all have our own tastes in what we like and don't like. I almost always make scrap quilts as I love that look, but I know it isn't for everyone.
Nothing really gives me the "creeps" though....I love all types of quilts at least to look at and appreciate the work that went into it!

Sunbonnet Sue! No, no, no! Actually, 1930s fabrics in general are not my cup of tea. Although I admire anyone (and that includes my parents, of course) who managed to live through the Dirty Thirties, I just wouldn't want to imitate any of the styles of that period.

I really don't care for Baltimore Album type quilts. I can admire and respect the amazing workmanship that goes in one but to me the pattern of sampler blocks of fruit, flowers, vines are boring.

I am a traditional block person. I can appreciate the artistic modern quilts; however, I just can't help to think of the history that quilting was born from and find it more comforting.

Bargellos set my nerves on edge - can't stand them and will never do one.

Almost every other pattern is fine. I think it is fair to say that, with most patterns, it is the fabric used that makes an ordinary pattern special or striking. Log cabins are very ordinary but i love the floral log cabins - so bright and cheerful!

I also wanted to add that none of the patterns give me the creeps, but at this point in my life, I'm not ready to attempt a one block wonder--esp. when massed together in a quilt, I don't like it--I prefer them when they are separated by something so that it doesn't look like one big mass of color. I like to be able to see the pattern.

I also adore Sunbonnet Sue, but am not interested in doing one. It definitely feels dated to me, and I'm not particularly big on whether something is dated or not.

I like the classics, but am not up to making a lot of them at this time--Dresden Plate, Grandmother's Flower Garden. I'd love to own them, but not make them.

I really love applique, but have never tried one, and am not ready to attempt it yet.

So, I guess, the only one I dislike most of the time is One Block wonder. I don't look at them when posted on the pictures section,if they are identified as such in the subject line.

Pretty much most other patterns I like--even plain ole 4 patch or 9 patch and most scrappies as shown here, though I like organized scrappies the best. But one lady make a bunch of crazy squares and threw in random paper piecing which made it really an interesting quilt.

Well, none give me the creeps, but...I thought I couldn't stand crazy quilts..they just seemed too gaudy, and almost "dirty looking"...then one of my quilty friends brought up some squares she was doing with Brazilian embroidery...and needless to say, I had to "eat crow", big time!! Now, I am in her class, and making squares for a cq myself...

Yes! I don't care for those either. Along with bargello and log cabins. Will never in this, or any future lifetime, make any of those quilts!! Just thinking of all the cutting gives me creeps!!
