I bought a Wolverine F2D35 mm Film to digital converter .It works good with slides and negatives.Just push a button it goes. to a sd card you can then transfer them to a cd or dvd on your computer or as I did took the sd cade to wal mart and had them put it on a cd .You don't have to send you slide out and risk losing them

I have an Epson perfection scanner. Mine is an older one but I have scanned all my slides and negatives into my computer. They came out excellent. You could google to find one. I think even Walmart might carry them.
    Good Luck,
    Alice

My HP C8180 All in One does it for you as well. I do a lot of family history stuff (when not quilting) and it's been a life saver for cost and saving the old pictures without hurting them. It has a built in holder for slides or the old film as well so it makes a great all around printer.

Costco has that service. We looked into it but haven't brought ours in yet to have that done so I can't tell you anything about how they will turn out. Good luck.

Do you have a Costco nearby? I was there yesterday, and they had a paper saying that they do that service....I think it would be pretty expensive, because it is $17.99 for the first 50 slides and 0.29 for each one after that...they put the slides on a DVD.

I have done that and I had 10,000 sides dating back to the early 60s. I then took many of the slides and made every member of the family a copy. A type of a pictorial family tree, music added. Be sure after you get all of the pictures copied that you put them on a USB that can be stored in a vault or somewhere safe.

Do you know of a company or link where you would (I guess) send your 70's slides and have them put on a DVD format?!?!
He has BOXES and BOXES of them! thank you
Oh my, we've been there and done that. We bought a Canon scanner (CanoScan) that has special sleeves you can put the slides in and scan. Also used for making transparencies. We (actually he) scanned 5,000 slides (saved as jpgs) and then transferred them to CDs (uses up a ton of CDs!) Could also put them onto a secondary memory storage devise instead of the CDs.

You can either buy a scanner for slides and do it yourself or have walmart do it. I've been having Walmart put my old home movies on dvd and they come out very nice

I got a flatbed scanner, with TMA (Transparent Materials Adapter) for under $30 on ebay. Has worked great for 2-3 years now. I do a lot of slides, if anyone has some they are thinking of getting rid of, PLEASE PM me - I would be interested in them.

I am SO GLAD you posted this! I couldn't think of anything for my 81-year-old dad, and this made me remember that he was wanting to transfer all his slides! I just ordered the scanner from Amazon.
