Air travel with Featherweight - need suggestions

A cheap $60 Brother machine from Walmart might be a good solution. You could buy it online and have it shipped to your destination, use it while you are there, then give it away before you go home. Then you eliminate the worry of traveling with your machine, save on baggage fees, and someone will probably be very happy to receive an almost brand new machine in the end.

Someone needs to start up a nationwide sewing machine rental company. I went to Hawaii for a bit over a week and thought maybe I could rent a machine somewhere, but every place I called acted like I was insane for even suggesting it! And I had no luck finding a machine at a thrift shop I could just buy and use for a week before re-donating either. I had to (*gasp*) go without sewing my whole vacation!

Two things I plan on doing is removing my spool pin and taking some foam and making me cushions to put around the machine. I took the machine today on my first sew day and it worked like a charm.

Maybe rentals isn't something they've ever thought of, but a smile with cajoling would probably result in a loaner.

my friend carries hers in a bag she bought at costco its listed on google as costco caio bag the description says caio under seat rolling bag and her feather weight fits in it really well. google it and see what you think.
