I traveled by train for Thanksgiving, and I have an old set of
that same color (except a little darker) and my luggage got some
    nice comments.

How do "they" decide on colors that will, or should, please the
general masses of people? I've always wondered about that.

I'm doing the design survey for Blank textiles' spring line, and seeing this come up with lime green and deep brown. Looks like another year I won't be "in"

Actually I try to stick to desert colors for my special quilts(since I live in the Desert) although I do like the old traditional quilts from the 30's , I have some original scraps to make a quilt , also have some dresden plates and castle wall, as well as virginia reel, blocks that need to be made into a quilt with muslin, My last quilt was called "The Journey from Hoffman" prints, lots of gold, orangy red and a whole bunch of tourquoise, made especially for my husband , to fit a kingsize bed, we bought the material in Shawnee Okla last Novembr on a trip to see a friend

My granddaughter Kallie is getting some amercian girl clothes and bags made with turquoise fabric. They are pretty. I like that color also.

Yeah Boy!! Hubby told me of a survey he saw that says 70% of people say "blue" when asked their favorite color.

As much as I love color and fabric, I'm really trying NOT to add more to my stash until I have some of my projcts done! (yeah, I know....famous last words!)

I admit that I don't buy 'trendy," but teal is my favorite for quilting. I like the cool, clean color, so oft times there is turqupise in the color combinations.
I agree that 'trend' is a sales ploy and am glad to know that we quilters have strong minds and buy what we like!

Go for it, gals, buy what you want...if you can find it!

I know I am outvoted  but the more I see turqoise in with other colors, the more I love it :D:D:D but many years I have not enjoyed the new combinations... like brown and blue/teal... I am glad that they change and often... that way I can always hope that I will like the next years choices :D and I find that the new combos help me think out of "my box" :D:D:D
