I'm an iPOD addict, too.
Something I've put on my iPOD is podcasts and audio book downloads. Seems I can get "taken away" into a story and time passes without my noticing it. In that genre, I would recommend Bill Cosby and Bob Newhart if you can find them since they're both great comedians and are sure to make you laugh.
For music, I want to add:
Iron Butterfly - In-a-gadda-da-vida
Beatles - didn't we all listen to them? whatever you liked!
John Mellencamp - R.O.C.K. in the USA
Rod Stewart - Do Ya Think I'm Sexy
Lou Bega - Mambo No. 5
Chawabumba - Tubthumping
Katrina and the Waves - Walking on Sunshine
and a little more modern but with old-style appeal:
Akon - Dangerous, What You Got
Coldplay - Vida la Vida
Eazy E - Automobile (this is really vulgar but has a great beat)
Flo Rida - In the Ayer
Kardinal Offishall - Bring the Fire Out
M.I.A. - Paper Planes

You will be in my prayers. Not much help with the music. I like country and Christian, and time rock and roll so those listed already work.
We are here for you through it all, keep us up to date. I have a gf who had a rare case of stage 4 Ovarian cancer last summer. Prayers, positive thoughts, slight change in eating habits, chemo and radiation. Her last test ---- she has NO more cancer!!! You can beat this.
Let go and let God.

I have to admit, I am getting nothing done, sitting here listening to these songs on youtube, this is a great list, and it will help you through your tough times. Make sure you get "Midnight Special" theme song.

Don't forget Tears for Fears. I love to "Shout" with them. There are so many wonderful pieces of music for every mood. I would make folders for my I-pod like "happy", "mad", "excited", "soothing", "spiritual", etc. You might also want a meditation section. I know that sounds so simple but when you aren't feeling so hot, simple is easiest.
I agree with the other posts. Get some comedians like Cosby, Foxworthy, etc. You need to laugh. The audiobooks or just good old fashioned paper books are always good therapy. I'm sure we can make a list of those too.
