I know this post/thread is pretty old but I just had to jump in here to comment.
I have BellaWood pre finished floors and always use METHOD products on my floors. They are all natural (no chemicals) and smell SOOoooo good. I bought the starter kit (including mop, handle and pads plus product) at Lowe's.
The replacement cleaner liquids for both hardwood floors and tile (all surface they call it) can be purchased at Target as well. A little pricey maybe but no other product has ever touched my 7 yr old glassy shine hardwood floors and they are gorgeous. Everyone who enters my home has a comment about the wood floors. They are awesome and so is METHOD!

I put hardwoods throughout my house and love them. The installer said to use a slightly damp mop and plain water or just a little bit of Dawn in the water. They mop up very nice. You don't want to use anything that will leave a residue over time.

Does anyone know how to clean them if they aren't sealed yet? I just had cedar floors put down and they are supposed to sit unsealed for a few weeks to "age" a little. I just wondered if you could damp mop this kind of floor without any problems. I don't want to ruin them, but we got the wood from the Amish in Tennessee and I don't think they finish theirs inside their homes at all. And I thought I saw the lady just mopping the floor normally but I am afraid to do that without being sure.

We were preparing to sell our house with hardwood 1 1/2 years ago and had a guy come in to give us a quote for re-sealing. He said that since I'd been using Orange-glo that the floors couldn't be re-sealed, they'd have to be stripped and re-finished. Lesson learned never to use orange-glo on hardwood no matter what the ads say. We only use a damp mop with vinegar and now we have laminate but that's still all I'll use.

My contractor told me it is best to use 1 cup vinegar in a gallon of water. Then go over it with clear water.

I also use murphy's oil soap in warm water. Fined it works well.

I have always used lestoil and bleach in a bucket of hot water. I use the old fashioned string mop. I don't put a lot of water on the floor and I make sure I wipe it up as much as possible so that the floor is only damp. Has worked for me for over 40 years.

Lots of sweeping and spot wiping goes a long way to keeping hardwood looking good. Our floors are birch and don't show much but with the right light, yikes! We're not religious about any particular cleaner but I prefer Murphys on a barely damp mop (I bought a special style that the custodians at school use for cleaning desks and boards).
Be careful, some products will make your floor too slippery.
