I like fabrics and colors from lots of decades--some of my favorites are the 70s (and earlier) calicos (es?). My most-loved (and least loved) colors don't change much, nor do the types of prints I like. I'm not so fond of today's popular fabrics--geometrics/aquas, sherbet oranges, yellows, greys--I tend to like rich jewel colors in florals and complicated prints. That said, I just love fabric!

Later on in the summer, I might have to do this pattern again using my patriotic color scraps...I have lots of them! At this time I am using some fabric in the stash I need to use up, not enough of 2 of them to use for much else. So this time it won't be scrappy. Having to work on it slowly inbetween making the 5 quilts I'm working on right now...still doing my 4 patches.

Thank you! The colors are actually softer than the photo-cream, peach, dark orange, bright blue and tone-on-tone navy. I am learning so much by looking at everyones blocks. There are so many beautiful color combinations!

Judy, when I decided to change them I looked at yours and others posted and saw that everyone was doing the 4 patch darks to the HST mediums so changed mine to go alone.

I am loving all these blocks. What's that phrase -- "so different and yet so similar"! I think we are going to have a great crop of quilts during the harvest on Saturday.

Back home after a short trip to help my daughter furnish her new apartment in San Francisco. Your photos are great!
Now I have to decide what to add to my blocks. First, I'll call Lynnie!!
