I like that red flower pin cushion! Corsage meaning it goes around your wrist? Nice, I like that. My favorite pin cushion also slips on my wrist. I was going to try to make one for my swap pal this go-round, but I got distracted by Cathedral Windows.
Yes it's on a slap bracelet that are pretty popular with the kids. :-)

I'm a floral designer and I've been making corsages for prom and I decided to try making one as a pincushion. I figured that the slap bracelet would be good because it can wrap around stationary things like chair arms that an elastic couldn't get around as well as a wrist.

I love that idea! How clever! Might have to try that out.

I tried a new wild flower pin cushion last night...I'm disappointed. It didn't turn out as beautiful as the picture. It's "ok" but I was going for "wow."

The challenge with the slap bracelet is that you have to use glue (which is actually how modern corsages are made in floral design) I used Arlene's flexible stretchable and I think it was a little stiffer than I'd like. Once I got it clamped it seems like it will be a good hold though.

Cedar do you use the glue to attach the pincushion to the slap bracelet or to cover the bracelet with fabric?

The last pincushion was mailed out yesterday! I am so happy that everyone followed through because I know that doesn't always happen on swaps. I am still waiting to hear back from auntBobb about receiving her pincushions.

Where is everyone? Did you all go on the cruise with Lynnie? It was a beautiful day here with the sun shining all day and the temp got up to 60 but it looks like some rain for the next ten days. I was just out in my garage seeing if I can outsmart the squirrels. Didn't see them but heard them so I think they are babies.

To attatching the pincushion to the bracelet. I did two leaves and clamped them each overnight and then glued the flower, and then I did some tacking stitches between the flower and the leaves. The slap par of the bracelet is metal so its not something that can be stitched through.
