Quilts made using vintage machines!
#481
I made just these three State Stars from BOM 50 Fabulous Stars thinking that the project would be too daunting, but I found the paper piecing to be easy. Since I don't have enough of the fabrics that I used in these blocks to make all 50 stars, I made a quick quilt with just the three stars. Piecing was done with Singer 201, quilting with Davis NVF, and binding's decorative stitching with Necchi Supernova Ultra. Here's the quilt.

Thanks you all!!! Don't know what I will do with the remaining 50 Fabulous stars that I make following the BOM, but I may make a couple more quilts with the stars like this one instead of using all the stars together in one quilt.

When you made this did you do the quilt as you go with the star blocks. Then one piece for the rest? I like your idea and it would be good for me to do the veterans quilts this way. The stars are very pretty in the reds. Never have done pp but will try one day.

This time I didn't do the quilt as you go for the star blocks. It was after I got the blocks together that I thought of doing it that method. I just pieced the entire quilt and then did the quilting. I think this would make for a beautiful quilt to give to a veteran with one of the stars being their state star.

I also thought if one didn't want to make a quilt with numerous stars, then one could just use one PP state star on the back of the quilt for a lovely recognition to the veteran.
