Oh I wish I could but for us to have DSL we have to have a landline. We so do want to get rid of this though and just use our cells.

Joanie, my 80+ year old parents had the same problem with their tiny cell phone. There are phones out there that have larger numbers/buttons. I found one for them from our local Verizon store and they seem to be managing quite well with it.

The little cell phones drop so easily. I hate wearing an earpiece and my eyesight is getting worse with old age and playing with a cell phone isn't fun when I have to find my reading glasses to look at it. But we're saving money and I guess that counts, right? I'd go back to the corded phones in a flash if I could. Tough keeping up with technology.

We have been cell phone only users for about 6 years and never miss the LL.

We have both, will probably keep both; our internet is tied to it, ( have a 'lifetime' price guarentee) and I don't really like the Cell quality as much... but the long distance is free.

We gave up our land line over a year ago. We each have a cell. Except for the occasional time when clarity is an issue, we haven't missed the land line. We are retired and only lived in this area 5-6 years so it's not like we had lots of friends and relatives with our number.

Now that everyone is giving up our landlines they are saying that cell phones can cause cancer, if yu use them alot, advise holding them at least 1" from your ear. Geez

Cell phone only for the past 3 or so years. Don't watch TV so no need to have a line for that but do have satellite (Can never spell that word!) connection for the computer.

We gve up our landline three years ago when we moved. Local service was $20 a month, but I could only callthe nearest town (2.3 miles from our house) For $40.00 plus tax etc I could call my daughter who lives 18 miles from us, but it was still long distance to call our other daughter. We elected to go to voice over ip witch is digital service with my internet provider. For $29.00 a month we have long distance in the United States, plus local service and voice mail. The only draw back is that you cannot use a fax machine since it only works on analog service.

We don't plan on giving up our land line, we have Trac Phones, so no monthly service fees or contracts, but we really don't use them that much either.
